Judges deserve to work without fear and without threats to themselves and their families. To that end, we’ve prepared three toolkits to help people start and operate local groups that will be able to take action in support of federal judges.
Our objective is to provide turnkey solutions to make it as easy as possible for groups of people across the country to support the courts. These toolkits are not designed to curate or replicate the many other useful resources currently available, but rather to focus on specific positive local actions.
The Getting Started Toolkit is designed for people to get a group up and running as soon as possible. This toolkit helps groups create a framework and structure for future action. This toolkit includes tips on forming a steering committee, organizing subcommittees and shares our approach to branding, communications, logistics, and budgeting for materials.
The Rally Toolkit is designed for groups that want to organize actions to support judges in their work and promote efforts to ensure their safety. The toolkit provides guidance that draws on our own experience. It’s designed to streamline the process and reduce the time and effort associated with organizing, promoting and holding rallies.
The Postcard Campaign Toolkit is designed for groups who want to host a postcard-writing campaign that provides a message of support to federal judges. It includes clear steps, a postcard template and sample postcard messages. It also allows groups to request a mailing list of over 1,300 federal judges, or to simply request data for a particular state. Finally, here’s a short video that illustrates how to carry out a postcard campaign.
